Our talented girls continue with fantastic results

Club Grades 6/5 and Compulsory 5

On the 5th March 2017 Boston Gymnastics Academy traveled to New college, Leicester for the  East Midlands Club grades 6, 5  and compulsory 5 competition. Fantastic work today from all of our girls who all passed their grade with either a distinction or a commended recognition.

In the morning event we saw the in age grade 6 girls perform fantastically to pass their grade. Lily-May Davy placed 33rd, Neve Smith 37th, Sienna Ryan 38th, Hayden Taylor 39th and Tia Edwards 48th. In age club grade 5 saw Daisy Gould place 21st and Cheska Heppenstall 34th.

The afternoon event was the club grade 6 and 5 out of age and the compulsory 5 competitions.

A bronze medal for Millicent walker who claimed 3rd the spot at club grade 5. Leah Watts and Maci Watts battled strong and placed an impressive 7th and 8th in this category.

In the open age club grade 6 section Boston Gymnastics Academy saw Lilianna place an incredible 2nd place and pick up the silver medal with only 2 weeks of preparation prior to the competition due to an injury she sustained at home.

Lacey White entered into the prestigious compulsory 5 level, this level is the first of many towards the elite pathway of gymnastics. Lacey had a good clean and solid competition and placed and impressive 12th in this tough field.

Gymnasts pass National Grade 4 and 3

Four gymnasts from Boston Gymnastics Academy headed to New College, Leicester on Sunday 19th March for the East Midlands national grades championships. The morning saw Ruby-Mae Hardstaff and Kenzie Burrell compete at national grade 3 in the open age category. Both girls performed with exceptional maturity and clean routines, both passing their grade by over 9 marks. The top 5 places were extremely close with only a fraction between the gymnasts. Ruby-Mae placed 4th overall with a score of 59.35 and Kenzie 0.15 behind to place a fantastic 5th with a score of 59.2. Both girls over 3 marks ahead of the next competitor!

In the afternoon Katie-Arie Parker and Tegan Rose Rogers were representing the club at National grade 4. Katie was on fire posting excellent scores on all pieces to obtain a super score of 60.8 passing her grade by almost 11marks and gaining 4th place in the open age section. Tegan Rose performed a beautiful range set and a powerful vault, despite 2 large errors on beam she had impressed enough to pass her grade and place a respectable 15th. Great work from gymnasts and coaches.

Nick Ruddock’s visit

On Tuesday 14th March Boston Gymnastics Academy welcomed the UK and Europe’s leading gymnastics consultant Nick Ruddock to the gym. Nick worked closely with many of our gymnasts providing lots of new and exciting ideas for us all to use inside the gym. It was a fantastic training session and an great experience for both gymnasts and coaches.
